Does the woman on the right in the thumbnail ever blink or change expression?  I guess she does about halfway through, after she refuses to say that Sarah Palin is the best woman for the job or not.  She does claim Palin is ‘McCain’s pick’, which is probably not true, but McCain won’t contradict that now.

Palin says she felt safe flying to Alaska to have baby

Gov. Sarah Palin’s decision to make the eight-hour flight from Dallas to Anchorage has some people wondering about the possible safety hazards of flying while in the late stages of pregnancy.

The alternative to the Bristol as mother theory is that Sarah Palin was trying to abort her child.  She didn’t look pregnant because she was avoiding putting on weight.  She took a long plane ride and engaged in other hazardous activities trying to promote a miscarriage.  She is pro-abortion, just not abortion legally provided by qualified doctors.

If the camera were to zoom out a bit, we could see the other quaintly Alaskan decor touches in the office: an Iditarod dogsled, a stuffed Eskimo holding a harpoon (she bagged him herself on a recent hunting trip!), and a 700-gallon aquarium filled with halibut.

When the republicans talk about putting partisanship aside, they are talking about creating a one-party system.

Shortly after becoming mayor, former city officials and Wasilla residents said, Ms. Palin approached the town librarian about the possibility of banning some books, though she never followed through and it was unclear which books or passages were in question.

Palin’s Start in Alaska: Not Politics as Usual

This particular anecdote creeps me out more than a lot of the others. I don’t mind somebody having a radically different ideology than my own—but any attempt to impose her views through stifling dissent is not “putting America first.” Or at least not any definition of “America” that I would recognize.

Of course, with her sympathy to and possible membership to the Alaska Independence Party is also not lined up with McCain’s new slogan. She too is a maverick. She’ll go against her party. But in most cases, she splits to the right.

Yeah, I mean is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?
